More choice, same Pickit. Two active-stereo cameras join the HD family
Selecting the right 3D camera starts with the application: the required accuracy, field of view and mounting setup are never the same. That is why Pickit is expanding its HD 3D vision camera range with two active-stereo cameras from Ensenso, a proven German brand. The M-HD2-N36 and L-HD2-N36 deliver HD-level performance through the same easy-to-use Pickit software and workflow, creating an accessible, cost-effective route into HD 3D vision.
The new HD cameras in a nutshell
Two new active-stereo options join the Pickit HD family: the M-HD2-N36 for medium fields of view and the L-HD2-N36 for larger fields of view.
Three complementary 3D technologies are now available in the HD range: structured light, laser triangulation and active stereo.
One software and one workflow. New hardware choice with no new learning curve, and the integration and support customers already rely on.
A cost-effective route into HD 3D vision helping customers to build a fast return on investment using the user friendly Pickit workflow.
What's new?
Three 3D technologies, one Pickit platform
Pickit is camera-agnostic by design. There is no one-size-fits-all 3D camera, so the platform continues to expand around the best-fit camera for each application. Adding active stereo alongside structured light and laser triangulation broadens the available choice in the HD offering, while Pickit remains the integration layer across the camera range.
New hardware, same experience

The M-HD2-N36 and L-HD2-N36 work through the same easy-to-use Pickit software used with the rest of the camera portfolio. Customers can add a new hardware option with the same configuration process and 3D vision workflow. The integration and support experience also remain the same.
Lightweight for robot-mounted and fixed HD applications

At only 0.65 kg each, both cameras are well suited to robot-mounted as well as fixed mounted setups. They are designed for pick-and-place, assembly and robot-guidance applications where HD accuracy is required, for example in automotive and general manufacturing environments.
Two working ranges for a better application fit
Both cameras capture 3D data at a resolution of 1936 x 1216 pixels, but each serves a different operating range. The M-HD2-N36 covers medium fields of view across a working distance of 370 to 800 mm. The L-HD2-N36 extends the working distance from 600 to 2,000 mm for applications that require a larger field of view.
At their optimal working point, estimated picking accuracy is 1.0 mm for the M-HD2-N36 and 2.0 mm for the L-HD2-N36. Estimated part location accuracy reaches up to 1.0 mm and 2.0 mm respectively.

Technical overview

Accuracy figures are estimates and vary between the optimal working point and the full working range
More choice, better application fit
The two additions strengthen the open camera-agnostic Pickit platform rather than changing how customers use it. With three complementary 3D technologies in the HD family, the camera can be matched closely to requirements of the application while the software, workflow, integration and support stay the same.
