Java Software Developer

Customers expect our 3D camera system to be nicely integrated with their robot. The more they can do this from the robot’s graphical interface the better. For one of the leading robot brands in terms of ease-of-use, we want to bring the integration to the next level so customers will no longer see the robot and the camera system as two different components.

You will be the main developer on this next level integration and will have to understand how to create a great user experience for our customers.

As a Java software developer, we expect from you:

  • To implement both functional and visualization components of the user application

  • A good understanding of the bigger picture including the robot and our product

  • To come up with realistic timings when drafting new features

  • A good balance between agility in terms of development and critical mindset when it comes to testing your developments

You will be part of the development team and work closely with the product and support team. Furthermore you will be in contact with all other experts in our company, but must also be capable to solve problems independently and display lots of creativity.

The most important criteria for joining our development team are:

  • Bachelor or Master degree in (computer) engineering or computer science

  • Hands-on experience with developing Java applications and user interfaces

  • Comfortable working in a Linux environment

  • A ‘can-do’ mentality to solve development challenges

  • The ability to come up to speed in new areas quickly

  • Comfortable with joining in on user experience discussions and love working in teams

  • Above all: Fun to be around.

We prefer candidates who have experience with frontend development as well but will train you to fill in the missing gaps.

What do we offer

  • A full-time employment contract, with 12 additional holidays on top of the 20 legal holidays.

  • A competitive salary completed with a package of extra-legal benefits such as meal and eco vouchers, health insurance and group insurance.

  • On-site cafeteria with sandwiches, cold buffet and hot meals.

  • A nice place in our new office in Leuven. Leuven is known for its cultural heritage, universities and student life. Located 20 km from Brussels from which you can travel to a lot of major European cities within less than an hour.

  • But most of all … A fun, young and dynamic environment where we make it our mission to get the best out of every employee.

Our FLOW-values guide us in doing so: Flexibility - Learning - Open communication - Working together
